To the believer who is feeling deeply battle-weary today: It is okay to be tired. Walking the path of faith, enduring seasons of spiritual warfare, and holding onto hope in a fractured world is exhausting. If you feel like you are running on empty, remember that God does not expect you to be a superhero; He invites you to be a child who rests in their Father’s arms.

Here is a reminder for your weary soul today:

1. You Fight From Victory, Not For It

When the warfare feels relentless, itโ€™s easy to feel like youโ€™re losing. But the defining truth of your life is already settled.

  • The battle is won: Jesus defeated the dark on the cross.
  • Your position is secure: You aren’t fighting to achieve a victory; you are standing on the victory Jesus already secured for you.

2. Rest is Holy

In 1 Kings 19, when the prophet Elijah was utterly exhausted and wanted to give up, God didn’t lecture him or demand more performance. God gave him a shadow to sleep under, food to eat, and water to drink.

  • If you are weary, taking time to rest, weep, and pour out your heart to God is not a lack of faith. It is an act of surrender.

3. Your Strength is Not the Engine

You do not have to muster up the power to carry yourself through this time.

“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” โ€” Isaiah 40:29-31

Take a deep breath. You don’t have to figure out the next year, the next month, or even the next week right now. Just focus on the next step. Hold fast to the shield of faith, but remember that when your arms are too tired to lift it, Jesus is standing right in front of you ready to carry your weights. Hand them over to the One who can do infinitely more than you can imagine.

You are deeply loved, completely seen, and you are going to make it through this time.

Breathe. Slow deep breaths.
