Your cocoon phase acted as a “tomb” where your old self died, allowing a new creature to emerge. You have been transformed in the cocoon. A lot of work happened in this dark place. Just as a physical cocoon appears ugly, it changes into a beautiful butterfly. There has been an adjustment as you have emerged from the cocoon. It will take some time to realize you have been changed. You have been set apart and are never going back. A butterfly can never return to being a caterpillar. Similarly, you will not return to being your old self. It died! You are a new creature through Jesus Christ. You are breaking out of the cocoon and getting ready to fly!
- In Christianity, the butterfly symbolizes the resurrection. It disappears into a cocoon and seems dead. Yet, it emerges later far more beautiful and powerful than before.
The cocoon you were in was necessary. It prepared you to be used powerfully for the Lord. All the ways of your former self, including old addictions and sins, had to die in the cocoon. You can not take your former ways into where God is bringing you. You can now do more. You are no longer trapped in a cocoon. You have “wings” to fly and reach more people for His Kingdom.
The cocoon had you confined to your borders, but you will now be capable of expanding your borders. The Lord can now trust you with what He is about to do through you. You understand that all of the healing, repentance and deliverance that was done while you were in the cocoon will be used in serving those who will be in your expanding borders.
You don’t want a platform, or to be flattered. You want Jesus to be Glorified through your testimony, and for others to get hope and redemption through Christ.
