Word of Encouragement: You Will Have More Than Enough Time. Exposing Python’s Tactics Against You

That sense that you have felt that you don’t have enough time, being squeezed or pressured or like you are in a hurry may be indicators that you are dealing with a Python spirit. There are other signs as well that I will discuss later in this post. The attack on your time is what I want to deal with specifically today.

It seems like everyone has an agenda for you, even the enemy has an agenda for you. The enemy or specifically the Python spirit steals your time, wastes your time, and robs you of the strength that you will need to do the things that God has called you to do. 

Time is valuable, and you only have so much of it. The Python spirit will try and superimpose his calendar or timetable onto the timetable that God has for you. 

Python comes to disrupt and cause you to be out of sync with the flow and rhythm of the Holy Spirit. 

Listed below are some other indicators you may be dealing with a Python spirit:

1. Feel squeezed for time.
2. Feel pressure to conform to what others want.
3. Feel agitated, annoyed, aggravated, and/or frustrated.
4. Headaches and/or fatigue that sleep or vitamins don’t help.
5. The atmosphere feels heavy, lacking joy and peace.
6. Prayer and worship are decreased or halted.

The Python spirit will try and wear you out with “needless prayer requests or prayer needs.” Yes, there is absolutely a time to intercede and pray, but there is also a need to discern what time is it. There are endless prayer needs that can come across our daily lives, not all of them we are to pick up and intercede. Some are sent merely to distract us, some are sent to discourage us, and some are sent to place holes in our faith. Immediately give over to Jesus what you have discerned is not yours to carry and pray about. 

On a personal note I tend to disregard those prayer requests that come in a long and very detailed manner. The texts, chats, emails or direct prayer requests that are so lengthy and detailed that I have to go back and read several times or ask clarifying questions can be an assignment to keep you distracted. Yes, the enemy can use anyone. I do understand there are times that prayer requests will be more lengthy and detailed if you are dealing with a crisis or emergency. We make exceptions then, but this too should not continue on the norm day after day. Python loves to get into our communication and squeeze our energy and time. Be sober and alert to what you allow yourself to get involved with.

Just because someone is saying all the right Christian things, and even calling themselves a Christian they may not be a true follower of Yeshua. You shall know them by the fruits that they produce. Be careful who you allow in your inner circle. Some people are sent on assignment to derail, distract, and destroy your purposes in God. 

Take into account the slavegirl in Acts 16:16 who followed Paul and Silas around for several days continually saying, “ These men are the servants of the Most High God who are telling you the way to be saved.” While her statement was technically true, her shouting was a distraction to the true movement of the Spirit not this counterfeit spirit of divination coming from this slavegirl.

Paul tolerated this behavior for several days. As we see in Acts 16:18, Paul became deeply troubled (greatly annoyed or grieved). He knew or discerned that something was off with that girl. She was saying all the right things, but Paul felt annoyed by her. Paul then turned to the slavegirl and spoke directly to the spirit, “ In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her.” Then the spirit left her.

Python spirit and other similar spirits mimic or counterfeit spiritual truths. On the surface you may not see with your physical eyes why you may feel squeezed, pressured, or annoyed. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you a greater awareness of what is causing you to feel these things, and then ask the Holy Spirit to breathe fresh life into every area of your life including your time and calendar. You have authority in the name of Jesus to command Python out, and to bind his influence in your life.
