Word of Encouragement: Your Life Matters More Than You Think

You may not feel like your life matters, but it does!

You may feel like you are not doing anything significant with your life and have therefore concluded that your life does not matter. Perhaps you have listened to the lies of the enemy saying, “You don’t matter,” or “You have no real purpose.” Maybe you have believed those lies for so long that they have begun to feel like the truth. You may even find yourself wondering why you are still here.

But I want to remind you today: your life has value, your story has meaning, and your presence matters.

It is understandable that, when life becomes overwhelmingly painful, you may want to escape through distractions, entertainment, isolation, or other forms of escapism. You may even find yourself entertaining thoughts of not wanting to continue. Give yourself grace. Forgive yourself for the ways you have tried to escape the pain.

You have learned ways to survive what you have been through. Hiding, withdrawing, and escaping may have felt like the only ways you could manage the deep pain in your life.

But God does not want you to merely survive. He desires to restore you.

The Lord is bringing a deep cleansing to your heart and soul. There is still purpose inside of you. There is still influence within you. You influence people more than you realize.

People are watching your life.

They may not know everything you have endured, but they know enough of your story to recognize that you have faced adversity. And even though your hope may have grown dim because of the extreme hardships you have experienced, the story is not over.

God desires to breathe hope into you again.

Remember the story of Peter stepping out of the boat. Sometimes faith requires us to step beyond what feels safe and familiar and trust Jesus with what happens next.

If you take that step of faith, your life can become a testimony to those near and far. Your story can become a beacon of hope for someone who is struggling to believe that their own story can change.

There are people who already know some of what you have been through. Imagine the encouragement they will receive when they see God bring life back into the places that once seemed dead.

What looked like dead, dry bones can live again!

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11

Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us that we can trust God even in dark and painful seasons. Difficult circumstances do not mean that God has abandoned you.

Your current season is a detour, not your destination.

God is still working, even when you feel stuck. He is still present when you cannot see what He is doing. He is still writing your story when you cannot understand the chapter you are living through.

So don’t put your life, your joy, or your ability to serve others on hold until everything gets better.

There is someone who needs the encouragement that only your story can provide.

There is someone who needs to see that it is possible to keep believing after disappointment.

There is someone who needs to know that God can bring beauty out of brokenness.

There is someone who needs your testimony.

Your life matters more than you think!

Get about your Father’s business. Keep walking. Keep believing. Keep trusting. Keep allowing God to restore the places in you that have been wounded.

You are not finished.

Your story is not over.

Your purpose has not disappeared.

There is still hope for you, and there is still hope through you.

Today, choose to take another step.

Let God breathe fresh hope into your heart.

And remember: the same God who sustained you through the darkest seasons can use your life to become a light for someone else.

Your life matters.

More than you think.
